Willard R. Bahn ("Willie") 93, of Liverpool, passed away at the Masonic Care Community in Utica surrounded by family and staff. He was a proud lifelong resident of Liverpool and graduate of Liverpool High School. After serving in the United States Army, he graduated from Syracuse University with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He retired in 1984 from General Electric after 43 years of service.Willard was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Carol Erlenback Bahn. He is survived by his twin daughters, Lois Ann Bahn and Susan Marie Bahn of Liverpool; and son, Gary and daughter-in-law, Christine Heagle Bahn of Cazenovia.
Willard and his family traveled extensively visiting numerous National Parks. Following his retirement, Willard and Carol continued to travel for several years the way they loved, with trailer in tow. Willard was an avid photographer and "fearless" do it yourselfer.
Willard was an active in numerous Masonic organizations for 63 years. He was a 53 member of the Liverpool Methodist Church.
Friends may call Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Maurer Funeral Home at 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY with a service to follow at 3 p.m. A Masonic service will follow at 3:30 p.m. A private burial, at the convenience of the family, will be in the Liverpool Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Willard's memory may be made to the Masonic Care Community, 2150 Bleeker Street, Utica, New York 13501, Liverpool United Methodist Church, 604 Oswego Street, Liverpool, New York 13088, or to a charity of your choice .
Willard's family would like to recognize the staff at the Masonic Care Community for their fine and compassionate care during his nearly two year residence on the "Manhattan Neighborhood."
