Greetings Brethren,
October is here & things are about to get very busy. On the 3rd, the Annual Walk-a-thon for the Children’s Dyslexia Center CNY takes place on the Eastern Star Campus in Oriskany. Please consider supporting the Center by walking, sponsoring a walker, donating or coming to the BBQ.
Officers are reminded of the Executive Committee Meeting on Monday, October 5th at 7:00 PM. The Presiding Officer from each Body is required to attend and the second in line, asked to attend. Presiding Officers who can not be present should ask the second to attend in in his place. As a courtesy, I would ask those who can’t attend, for whatever reason, to notify myself and our Valley Secretary, Ill. James Swan in advance and in writing - email is the preferred method.
The Feast of Tishri will makes its CNY debut on Monday, October 12th. According to the Scottish Rite Ritual Monitor and Guide by Arturo De Hoyos, we find “Significantly, Solomon, a king of peace and wisdom, built the Temple. The Lord ... delivered this responsibility and glory to Solomon, whose very name derives from the Hebrew word shalom, meaning peace. Thus in observing the Feast of Tishri, we reaffirm our dedication to human concord and the brotherhood of all men in a world of peace. As individuals and a Brothers in the Rite, we resolve to build, as Solomon did, through harmony and cooperation, ever seeking peace for all mankind.
The consecration of the Temple must be observed at the Feast of Tishri because it teaches the equality and unity of all members of the Rite. The people of Israel, unified under Solomon, were equal in their devotion to the Lord and equal in their sovereignty to all other nations. In the Feast of Tishri, all Perfect Elus and those of higher Degrees can join at the banquet table and share the bond of fraternal unity.” Please consider joining us for this feast of Thanksgiving.
Our Recognition & Awards Dinner will be held on Monday, October 26th with Social at 6:00 p.m., Dinner 6:30 p.m. and our Program beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m. We will be recognizing our Dedicated Service & Meritorious Services Awardees, Past Officers and maybe a few others along the way. Please get you reservations into the Office.
The final two weeks of October will be devoted to Scottish Rite Promotion. We will have teams available to visit lodges in the surrounding area with a program about Scottish Rite and the information concerning the All USA Class to be held on November 12, 2016. If you would like us to visit your lodge, please contact our Office.
Are you a Scottish Rite Freemason? If not, now is a good time to join.
See you soon...

Let us not forget to reach out to our shut-ins and members who haven’t been around. We would like to have them back to experience our fellowship and impart their Masonic knowledge and experience to our Valley members.
Just a reminder the keep an eye on the Valley’s Trestleboard and experience the fellowship of the members of the Valley. May the blessing of the Great Architect be upon all of you, your families, and our nation’s military service members.

Greetings Brethren,
I have been informed of the Passing of Frank Rosa’s Wife Elba. Please keep Frank and his family in our thoughts and prayers. In a recent conversation with Joe Stevens, I learned that he had to have surgery, and will require another operation at some point. I am sure many of us have spent many hours with Joe doing Child I.D. at the State Fair. We wish Joe a speedy recovery and return to the Valley.
If any member is in need of our aid or sympathy feel free to contact us in the strictness of confidence….we may be able to assist. This also includes transportation. If you need a ride to meetings or would like to travel to other Valley’s to witness degrees, please let us know.
