Knights I have been busy getting a cast together for the Feast of the Paschal Lamb. Two of my line officers will be doing parts. It's always good to get new people in to carry on. The Feast of Tishri will be taking place on March 14, 2002 at 6:30 P.M. A light buffet will be served and the cost is $8.00.
I am excited because it will be the first time I will be doing some parts as the 5th Craftsman. I have attended this event several times when I was in the south. Both of these Feast are open to the public and if you know a brother who’d like to come, bring him.
There are openings for degree parts so please consider doing this as it gives you a more meaningful picture of a degree.
I hope to see everyone this month.

Greetings Sovereign Princes. Hope you are all staying safe and warm.
Speaking of warm, March is here which means spring is coming. As for Valley events in March we will be having The Feast of Tishri on the 14th which it is my understanding that this has not been done in quite awhile in our Valley, should be a good time.
One thing that all Brothers should consider attending at least once is The Executive Committee meetings, this is where ideas are shared and the work of our Valley gets done. Right now we are doing the meeting via Zoom so if you would be interested in attending let the office now and they will send you the link.
Of course March also brings us St. Patrick’s Day for all us Irishmen and those who wish they were Irish.
Please remember that your ideas and input are always welcome and indeed wanted. We are once again encouraging all brothers, especially newer members, to take part in degrees in any way you can.
God bless you all, Freemasons, our military and this great country.

Princes: Hopefully by the time this article gets published the weather will begin to get better and we can begin to have thoughts of a beautiful spring! I’m ready, how about you!! I’m also very excited about the Valley’s Feast of Tishri event to be held on March 14 th . It’s an event the valley hasn’t done in quite some time, and we are very excited to be bringing it into our schedule.
There are many who say that the Feast of Tishri is much like a Masonic Table Lodge with feasting and appropriate toasts to bring joy and entertainment into our masonic endeavors. Although they both contain feasting and toasts, they are perhaps quite different in significance. Most Masonic Table Lodges are, in one form or another, a celebration or a” Reenactment” of
Blue Lodge Masonry in early Colonial America when Lodges were held in taverns. Certainly, an Awesome way to celebrate our American Heritage and Blue Lodge Masonry but not big on any ritualistic threads or deeper meaning in its function. The Feast of Tishri, However, is steeped in the Solomonic Tradition. As Ill. Arturo De Hoyo puts it in the Scottish Rite Ritual Monitor and
Guide for the SMJ, “The origins and significances of the Feast of Tishri make it the most Scottish Rite of all festivals”. It’s a harvest and celebration set in the time of the dedication of King Solomon’s Temple and together form essential elements that make up the fourteenth degree. It truly embodies the glorious celebration of the dedication of King Solomon’s Temple and Gods eternal lessons for mankind coupled with the core values of Scottish Rite Masonry. Ill. Brother De Hoyo concludes in his writing “The message of Tishri comes to us strongly and clearly from across the ages because it has been so preserved in the symbolism and allegory of the Scottish Rite. Through our observance of this great feast of thanksgiving, we, as heirs of Solomon, perpetuate his magnificent Temple of freedom in our lives, our communities, our country and, most of all, in our beloved Rite.”
Wow, what a powerful message!! I hope my Princes you are inspired to come out and Join us on March 14 th for our Feast of Tishri and celebrate what it is to be a Scottish Rite Mason.

Greetings Brothers, Under sickness and distress….thankfully, I have nothing new to report. I think everyone is happy to have February behind us, and the bitter cold temperatures hopefully with it. Punxsutawney Phil predicted 6 more weeks of winter weather, and I would rather deal with it now than in April.
Covid infections have gone down since last month article, but Dianne and I are still following safe practices when we are out and about, and recommend all seniors and high risk people do the same.
Education assistance forms are now available for our children and grandchildren heading off to college. Get them in soon !

Notes from the Children’s Dyslexia Center CNY
Where has the time gone? Here we are days from our Annual GALA celebration and fundraiser. It is our biggest fundraiser of the year (as you know, we are now raising every bit of our operating budget on our own.) We have only been able to succeed in this because of your support and caring. To be able to have a Family Celebration for our Center is a great thing and the Monetary and Basket Donations have been phenomenal. We so enjoy spending time with so many of you at our functions that include Food, Games, Music and Dancing- something for everybody. (And, of course, our exciting Basket Raffle.) - as always, Thank You for Being There!!!!. In the vein of our Basket Raffle, one of the families of former attendees, Gabriel, makes a point of being the first to bring their basket to the Center and it is always a phenomenal compilation (this year it contains everything you might need for a camping trip from tent to chairs, to fishing poles and more). The exciting news that Gabriel shared is that, as a Senior this year, she is on the Honor Roll and planning to attend College next year as a Criminal Justice major. Congrats to her!!!
A reminder that we also have the Recognition Ceremony in the works. It is scheduled for the second Tuesday in June (June 14th and we will take that time to recognize our children and tutors in a special way. Last year the Ceremony was limited to families, tutors, and the Board. We will let you know what will happen this year as we get closer to the date.
Just a little update on Lucas: He continues to attend regularly and is making more consistent progress each lesson. We see some great insight in his learning as he is sometimes able to ‘see ahead” when new concepts are being presented. We look forward to even greater progress as the year continues
I know I constantly tell you how much we appreciate continued support, whether in body or donations but that is because we could not continue to assist children like Our wait list remains at two years out and we continue to receive an average of one to two applications weekly. We are preparing for the Practitioner 1, (Scholar) level course to be taught next year. Please be aware that we are always looking for qualified people interested in the annual training course as having new scholars allows us to continue to bring in more children. We will need to keep training more people because many of our certified trainees are working in schools and some are also taking on children privately. In that way your support continues to reach more children and families in many ways.
Wishing you all the best as we look toward a much-awaited Spring.
