The Syracuse Knights of St. Andrew held its first Bannockburn Banquet on Saturday, June 15th, 2019 at the historic Brae Loch Inn in Cazenovia, NY. The Bannockburn Banquet commemorated the Battle of Bannockburn of June 1314. It was a Scottish victory by King of Scots Robert the Bruce against the army of King Edward II of England in the First War of Scottish Independence. Legend has it that a band of Knights Templar assisted the Bruce in achieving this victory. Rev. Steve Maddox recited some items of note with regard to the Battle. Venerable Master, Ryan Hanlon did a fine job setting up the event at the Brae Loch, even arranging for a Scotch tasting! Rick Powell hosted the event despite sporting a back brace due to a recent injury. Special thanks to Mark Stinson who provided the bagpiping for the evening. A great time was had by all. See you next year!
