Consistory
Greetings Brethren,
Another “Masonic Year” is essentially over. As we transition to new Officer Lines for the Lodge of Perfection, Council Princes of Jerusalem and Chapter Rose Croix, I would like to thank Brother Jack G. Dombrowski, 32°, newly Past Thrice Potent Master; Brother Robert O. Boutell, 32°, newly Past Sovereign Prince; and Brother Carlton Jackson, 32°, newly Past Most Wise Master for the exemplary leadership they demonstrated in their individual bodies over the course of the past year. Further congratulations to Brothers Dombrowski and Boutell who will be serving as District leaders for the Onondaga and Oswego Masonic Districts for the ensuing two years. Scottish Rite membership and service as an officer creates great leaders in Masonry and life!
The summer will see final touches being made to the National Scottish Rite Day festivities on Saturday, November 12th. That afternoon, we will see a joint conferral of the 32° by the Valleys of Syracuse, Utica, Binghamton and Norwood at the Administration Building on the campus of the Masonic Care Community. Running concurrently with the degree will be a Ladies Program and the day will be capped off with a festive dinner at the Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro. Sounds like something you would like to be a part of, but you don’t have the Scottish Rite degrees needed to take the 32°?
Fear not! We will hold a marathon batch of degrees before then. On Saturday, September 24th, the Valley of Syracuse will confer 4°(v), 12°(v), 14°(L), 22°(v), 30°(L), and 31°(v). Taking these degrees will make you eligible for the 32°, which will be conferred in Utica on Saturday, November 12th. Degree conferrals will start at 9:30 a.m., pausing at 12 Noon for lunch, and continuing in the afternoon. This provides an excellent opportunity for Master Masons to become Scottish Riters as part of a Historical Masonic Event.
Please contact any Scottish Rite Valley of Syracuse Officer, Valley Member, or the Valley of Syracuse office for additional details. Contact the office (315) 452-7976 or [email protected] to obtain a petition to take your degrees. Cost for a Master Mason to become a Scottish Rite Mason is $110.00 plus your annual member’s dues. Annual Member’s Dues in the Valley of Syracuse are $83.00 per year. Class members and their wife, or significant other will be guests at the four Valley combined Reunion Banquet Saturday evening November 12, 2016 following the degree conferral. Class members will also received a special jewel commemorating this special day.
Enjoy your summer, recharge your Masonic batteries and join us in the Fall.
See you soon...
Fraternally,
Ill.'. Richard J Powell, 33°

Greetings, Brothers
This is the last writing of two wonderful years as Most Wise Master for the Chapter of Rose Croix. As I was in Arizona for fun in the sun, most of the events of May were not attended by yours truly, I know I was greatly missed .
To the newly elected officers I wish you well and hope you enjoy your journey as well as I did and know that I am available to assist you in any way I can, just ask.
Brothers until we see each other in a few month's may the Great Creator keep you all.
Carlton Jackson, 32°

Council
Greetings Brethren,
Memorial day is now past and Summer has unofficially begun. The quarries stop their work for the summer. This is the time of year to connect with family and lodge brothers. Spending time outdoors and sharing experiences with those we love.
Aug 5th Teddy Bear Classic benefiting the Dyslexia Center
Brother Jim Nelson is the incoming Sovereign Prince and I am sure he will enjoy all the support I have had over the last year. Special thanks goes to Jim Swan and Rick Powell for all their help and encouragement and all those who had a hand in a wonderful year.
Robert O. Boutell, 32°
Sovereign Prince
Lodge
Greetings Brethren!
At your earliest opportunity please congratulate all the new officers within the Valley of Syracuse. Especially your new Thrice Potent Master, H. Bruce Naumann. He was instrumental in the success of the Lodge of Perfection during the previous year. I know he will lead you in an exemplary manner.
The Lodge of Perfection degrees will start again in the fall, so keep an eye on the Valley schedule and please volunteer. As a reminder the Valley now requires that you have your dues card scanned upon entering the meetings.
Please keep getting the word out to our Brothers who may have been missing meetings and let them know about how full our sidelines were and how impressive it was for the candidates. We always like to fill the Lodge room.
Don’t forget that we have 2 major events coming up that need maximum support. The Teddy Bear Golf Classic at Vesper Hills in August and the Walk-A-Thon at the campus in Oriskany later in October.
Please brethren, remember to contact brothers you haven’t seen in a while and help get them back to attending the exciting events we have planned for them. With my tour now over I would like to thank all the Lodge of Perfection officers who helped and supported me throughout the year. Your dedication and efforts were greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank all the other Valley officers and members who supported the Lodge of Perfection and myself. It was truly an enjoyable and memorable experience working with all of you.
May the blessing of the Great Architect be upon all of you, your families, and our nation’s military service members. See you soon in the Lodge of Perfection!

Greetings Brethren,
I have just returned from Grand Lodge and now realize that another Masonic year is about over. That means most of our Lodges will be going dark for the summer. Remember that the Hospitaler’s door is open year round.
Should you require any type of assistance , or in need of our aid or sympathy, please contact Brother Robert Tyrrell, or myself. We wish all of you and your families good health, and have a safe summer

Notes from the Children’s Dyslexia Center CNY
It seems like it was just yesterday that I was telling you about our plans for the 2015-2016 academic year at the Center, but here I am now, telling you about our end of year plans.
It is always busy at the Center but right now is a very busy time. We continue to process applications for children and are recruiting our class of scholars for 2016-17. The present scholars are finishing their practicums and will soon be certified tutors; the tutors and children are settling into their last month of tutoring during which: we will do end-of-year assessments and meetings; everyone has reports to do; and Gineal and I will be preparing all of the information that needs to go to headquarters and preparing for the Summer Session. Multi-tasking tends to be a way of life for all at the Center, especially this time of year.
Justin is, like everyone else, working hard to accomplish as much as possible before the middle of June and will plan to continue next year. I hope to update you in our next newsletter.
Just because we are ending our academic year does not mean we will not be busy at the Center this summer. We will have a four week session with the children, begin our training for next year’s scholars and start contacting the families of our incoming children for the fall.
We will also begin to prepare ourselves for the Teddy Bear Classic – our summer fundraiser. If you like the outdoors and golfing (you don’t have to be great- I am proof of that) and want to have a lot of fun, then:
