Happy New Year my Brothers and Ladies,
My, time flies, especially in the Valley of Syracuse. I want to thank Sharon Fox, Jim and Sharon Swan for all the hard work they have done in 2019 to keep this Valley running as smoothly as it does. We are lucky to have such dedicated, knowledgeable people in our midst.
We have had a very busy year with programs for our entire Masonic Family. There were Family Life events this summer which will be repeated this year also. My thanks to Ill. Garry Visconti and his Lady Lynn for organizing the committee for the Outing and Picnic at the Cicero American Legion Post. In August we had an event at the Syracuse Mets. There was food but no game or fireworks that night due to the heavy rains. We will hope for better weather for our next outing.
We have planned a Scottish Rite Family Life event at Syracuse Crunch vs Rochester Amerks ice hockey game on Saturday Feb.15, 2020. Tickets are $17 each, pay at Valley of Syracuse office. You pick up your tickets at “Will Call”. More Information was posted
in the December Word article. Thanks to Br. Ken Sterling 32°, DSA, for setting this event up.
January 13th is Spring Membership Night w/ Ladies. Reservations are a must. Jan. 27, 2020 we will confer the 4° (V) and 10° (L).
I ask that all officers of the four Bodies that comprise the Valley of Syracuse to support each other’s programs to the best of your ability. As an officer, your attendance at the Valley of Syracuse programs should be your primary interest.
Finally I want to wish all Masons and their families’ good health, prosperity and safe travels during the New Year.
Fraternally,

Greetings, the Holiday celebration on December 9 was a great time with many friends and family in attendance. As always, the O.E.S. Chapter #185 served an excellent meal of Roast Beef with all the trimmings. Our entertainment by Michael MacDonald who played guitar and sang many of our favorite song was enjoyed by everyone.
The next public event for the Chapter of Rose Croix is the Caregivers dinner on February 10, 2020, with social time at 6:00 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. and program following. Reservations for dinner are required.
As we begin a New Year and a new decade, may the future be bright and bring health and happiness to everyone.

Greetings Sovereign Princes.
First off, the Officers of CPJ hope you all had a wonderful holiday season full of love, laughs and togetherness.
Coming up on January 13 we will be having our Annual Spring Membership Night with our ladies. Dinner will be at 6:30 with entertainment following which will be music by Brother Tim Burns. There will be some patriotic songs, some 60’s and 70s music and Tim might even take requests.
The CPJ has almost all the positions filled for our upcoming 16th degree but can always use a few more thespians to help. Remember that even if you have seen one of the degrees before you are always welcome to come see them again.
If you visit the Valley’s web page at http://www.syr-aasr.org the first thing you see is “Our Vision: We strive to be a fraternity that fulfills our Masonic obligation to care for our members” – please do all you can to make this a reality by thinking about and caring for each other.
God bless you all, Freemasons, our military and this great country.

Greetings Princes.
I truly hope we all enjoyed the blessings of the Holiday Season enjoying some good downtime with Family, Food, Fellowship and Fun! May the Great Architect continue to bless us as we bring in the New Year!!
The new year represents a new beginning with New Year’s resolutions and promises we make with ourselves to become better men in the new year. What better time to re-establish our commitment to the Valley of Syracuse and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Come out and be a part of the excitement of new members and truly outstanding events.
The Lodge of Perfection work for the Month of January is a rehearsal of the 10th Degree on the 5th of January and the conferral of that degree on the 27th along with a video conferral of the New 4th Degree. The 10th Degree “Master Elect” is taken from the testament of Solomon, written by him during his latter years when he was undergoing the terrible torment of the sentence of the Lord for his transgressions. The ancient lesson of this degree ensures that the violator of his obligations will not go unpunished. Let us all reflect on our obligations and how we can put the lessons of this and all of the Scottish Rite Degrees in our daily lives. We hope all will come out for the Degree as the Valley has not conferred it in over 10 years.
Other Great events in January include the Spring Membership Night with the Ladies (Jan 13th) and the Robert Burns Supper (Jan 25th). Be sure to contact the valley for more information.

Notes from the Children’s Dyslexia Center CNY
We know it is Winter at the Center when we have had our first snow day and that arrived on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Here we are counting down for our Christmas Break and hoping not to have more snow days for a while.
It seems a hectic but fun time for all here. The children can hardly contain their excitement for the upcoming Holiday. Most first year children are really beginning to realize the benefits of what they have been learning here and the second-year children are really making great strides. Glenn is back for a third year and really in his groove. Gone are the hoodies that he used to “hide in” and her is writing his name as well as his spell words and short sentences. How wonderful for the family who was told he would never learn anything. Your support continues to make this happen!
We are constantly busy with fundraising activities are we truly look forward to our GALA next March with fellow Brother, Randy Riggle. It promises to be a wonderful occasion and we would love to “sell-out” early and we hope to see you there.
As we head into 2020 and continue to be ever grateful for all of your care and support, We hope you had the Merriest of Christmases and wish you the Best in the New Year!
