A fantastic evening occurred on June 13th at the Children's Dyslexia Center of Central New York located on the campus of the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany, NY. Proud parents watched as each child was recognized for their achievements in overcoming their dyslexia disability. Two children met all requirements needed to graduate from the program. Congratulations to them!
Ill. David Spencer, 33°, AASR, NMJ, & Deputy for the State of NY, spoke to the audience and the children about dyslexia and being persistent in overcoming obstacles. He cited several famous dyslexic people, from Muhammed Ali to Jay Leno and Albert Einstein, who did not let their dyslexia hold them down.
Refreshments followed the ceremony.
